All of us rely on family and friends to help us through the really important things in life. Can you think of those people who will be there when you need them? We're asking you to be there to help care for, and feed the animals at Maybury Farm, through the winter months.

As most of you know, the farm is closed to the public during the winter. We lose income from admissions and special events. What you may not know is: animals eat more during winter in order to maintain energy and body temperature. Winter months also limit the animals' ability to graze while snow and ice make it more difficult to navigate. Water sources must be kept from freezing, and straw bedding spread to create warmth, and keep the animals off ice and mud.

At Maybury Farm, every single day, there are animals relying on us for food, shelter, water, veterinary care, and interaction. And while the animals rely on us, we in turn rely on you. Our commitment to Maybury Farm reaches beyond the animals, it extends to the thousands of families, and children who rely on us to provide an educational and interactive experience through a lens of “days gone by.”

Last year, nearly 42,000 visitors made their way to Maybury Farm through our weekly programs, special events, and tours. They came from all over southeastern lower Michigan. Donating to Maybury Farm is a tangible way to educate and touch the lives of our most vulnerable generation. After all, they rely on us for their basic needs and protection, guidance, and knowledge to succeed later in life.
