NYC Outward Bound Schools is a nonprofit that partners with 70+ NYC public schools to engage students in equitable, immersive and joyful learning that prepares them to thrive.

Our student-centered model integrates social, emotional and academic development — all critical components of student success. We coach educators and school leaders, provide adventure programming for students, and work with schools to help ensure students have voice and choice in what they learn.

Together, our supports help students graduate with a solid postsecondary plan, prepared to thrive in college, career and life. Students who attend schools that fully embrace our model are much more likely to graduate high school on-time, and to enroll and persist in college.

Much like the way New York Road Runners leverages running to help inspire people to do more than they thought possible, our educational approach uses adventure, joy and challenge to help students achieve their full potential.
