As the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University Foundation (OIST Foundation) faces, along with you, this unprecedented global crisis, we want to offer you opportunities to have an impact.

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) is currently working on developing antibody tests for COVID19, sterilizing and testing face masks for reuse, and producing sanitizing hand gel, which they plan to share with others in Okinawa. All of this is part of efforts to build as much self-sufficiency as possible on the islands of Okinawa as they deal with the impact of COVID19 and the potential future increase of cases.

OIST and the OIST Foundation are also working together on a webinar series on scientific topics relevant to the U.S. and Japan to keep people engaged during this isolating time, and OIST is engaged in critical outreach projects to students in Okinawa and beyond that will have life-altering impacts on their future. Now is the time Okinawa and the world needs inspiration and your support can have deep impact!

Please consider a gift to support our efforts at this challenging time. Your support can assist OIST with critical research, inspire K-12 students to develop their full potential, and flexibly respond to the the unexpected implications of the virus, as well as support current students. Now, more than ever, Okinawa, Japan, and the world need to invest in scientific research.

A gift of $10,000 is being made by the Tanaka Memorial Foundation and we seek donations to match this generosity.

Please Note: The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security ("CARES") Act provides a special deduction for charitable contributions up to $300 for all U.S. taxpayers who do not itemize on their tax returns. The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
