The 2023 Philly Phreeze is raising funds for hiring bonuses for public pool lifeguards.
Over 150 dedicated Philadelphians braved the frigid temperatures and plunged into a PHREEZING Kelly Pool on Saturday, February 25th, a snowy 30-degree day in Philadelphia!
Philadelphia’s 60+ free outdoor public pools are an essential part of summer in the city.
- 1 Million yearly pool visits (pre-pandemic)
- 12,000 free swim lessons given
- 150+ camps served
It takes 400 lifeguards and 400 pool maintenance attendants to safely operate all city pools
