Founded in 2015, the EAT Initiative was birthed out of Chef Claudy Pierre’s vision to help feed and sustain food insecure communities. Since then, EAT’s primary focus has been to inject cultural competency and food education into communities in Pittsburgh and around the world. For more information, visit E.A.T. Initiative.
Claudy has gone above and beyond in his efforts to feed those in need in the Pittsburgh area. His Third Meal project was created to combat food insecurities that arose due to the coronavirus pandemic. It specifically addresses the needs of school children who rely on in-person schooling for at least one of their daily meals by making food available to them even when schools are closed or are conducting virtual learning, as well as the homeless, unemployed or underemployed individuals and the elderly. Meals that he and his team have made at the Energy Innovation Center Kitchen have been distributed in over 20 Pittsburgh neighborhoods, including Carrick, Beltzhoover, Manchester, Perry South, the Hill District, East Liberty, Garfield, Homewood and Lincoln, as well as into Beaver County and others.
This #GivingTuesday please support Chef Claudy and the E.A.T. Initiative's efforts to provide healthy meals to those in need in the Pittsburgh community. Your donation will make it possible for us to feed more families and make all of our holiday season a bit more joyful!
If you would like to donate via check, you can make out the check to 'Pittsburgh Green Innovators, Inc.,' with 'Giving Tuesday - E.A.T. Initiative' in the memo line, and mail it to the below address:
