Perspectives On Playwriting (POP) is a program from Playwrights Horizons that connects you — our most adventurous theater lovers — with some of our favorite theater makers.

Now in its fifth year, POP introduces students to the processes and purposes of playwriting, as told by the playwrights themselves. Because so many of us are sheltering at home during these unprecedented times, our 2020 Master Class series comes to you in the digital sphere. We are so thrilled to be able to offer these online sessions with some of the most dynamic artists working in the American theater today. As always, all are welcome to join — no previous playwriting experience required. Whether you’re a longtime theatergoer, completely new to the world of the stage, or even an artist yourself, POP is here to bring our community together over new plays, new musicals, and the voices behind them.

If you want to support POP, we hope you will consider making a donation of any amount that will allow us to compensate more artists as teachers of playwriting, while also engaging more audiences as students of playwriting. With your generosity, Playwrights Horizons can continue to give artists and audiences alike the opportunity to share with one another, to learn from one another, and to think together about plays — about what they are and why they matter.
