📚 Why Your Support Matters

Your child enjoys music, art, and field trips at PS 56 because families pool their money to pay for them. The DOE does NOT fund these activities! You might be surprised to learn that even essentials like printer paper, lice checks, and adequate substitute teacher coverage are NOT paid for by the city. We enjoy them only because PS 56 parents donate what they can to our school every year.

Did you know: the PTA spends approximately $650 on each student for enrichment and programs?

Funding received from the Department of Education doesn’t cover enough to give students a full academic experience — but the PTA & grants do:

$140,000 – This is our fundraising goal for the year! This is the critical amount needed to bridge the gap in DOE funding and the costs of our programs, which we aim to raise through your support of this campaign, fundraising events, and grants.

Contributions to organizations with 501(c)(3) status may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax professional to determine deductibility. Once your donation is fully processed by the bank and sent to ps56 PTA, you will receive a receipt summarizing this donation for tax purposes.
