In February 2015, David Gill was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a debilitating lung disease. The prognosis was that he would live three to five years and a lung transplant was imminent.

Three years later, David received a single lung transplant at the University of Alabama Birmingham hospital (UAB). Suddenly, his family needed a place to live near UAB for the next three to five months.

Red Mountain Grace was their answer to prayers by providing affordable housing during their stay in Birmingham.

Unfortunately, David passed away three short months after surgery on August 13, 2018. But, during those three months, because of Red Mountain Grace, he was able to spend countless quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren in a home away from home in one of their beautiful apartments.

Tour de Grace is a 100K bike ride that is designed to celebrate the life of David Gill and support the meaningful mission of Red Mountain Grace. Join us on October 5, 2019 on the Chief Ladiga trail in Anniston, Alabama as we celebrate David’s life well lived and the ongoing mission of Red Mountain Grace.

We hope you will consider registering for Tour de Grace or support our efforts through purchasing a t-shirt, or simply making a donation.
