This fall, instead of hearing “Back to School,” 2020 brought us, “When are we getting back to normal?” At SPA, we hear you! We are listening to our students, parents, and patrons. We want to be creative, but careful. We also want to provide our students with a healthy and safe place to find community, friendship, and expression in a time when the entire planet is suffering from isolation. Orson Welles once said, “The enemy of art is the absence of limitations.” SPA is accepting the challenge of this moment in history and is forging ahead with informed and calm tenacity.
This year, we are engaging more parents, local leaders, and corporate sponsors in a fundraising campaign to “Bridge the Gap”. Public funding for the arts continues to be a contentious discussion among administrators and legislators, and these uncertain times are not easing the strain. However, we are persevering in the face of adversity to continually evolve the breadth and quality of our arts programs.
We have an extraordinary opportunity to make strange circumstances our success story, but we need your help. We have a goal to raise $50,000 to Bridge the Gap between public funding and our students’ needs. To help us reach these lofty heights, an anonymous donor has come forward to match all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000!
Now is when we need your support more than ever! By Bridging the Gap, you are ensuring that our school provides artistic and academic support for the generation of students that is going to reshape the future in an unprecedented time. Your contribution will be doubled and will directly support SPA’s specific teaching, technology, and facility needs, including the increased investment required to satisfy health and safety concerns.
We are grateful for any way that you are able to support our cause and respectfully request that you consider a personally significant gift to our SPA students.
