We’re all busy families, and as members of the PTO, we’ve taken our biggest suggestion from our SHE community to heart. This year, we’re trying a different type of fundraiser; an Armchair Fundraiser! Our goal to raise $16,000 which would replace both our Fall and Spring Fundraising budget. Of course, if we don’t reach that goal, we will still plan a Spring Fundraiser.
• WHAT’S AN “ARMCHAIR” FUNDRAISER AND HOW LONG DOES IT RUN?
It’s called an “Armchair Fundraiser” because you don’t need to leave your chair to support all of Seattle Hill's educational, community-building, and culturally-enriching programs. The fundraiser will start on Giving Tuesday November 27th and end Tuesday December 11th.
You give once, Seattle Hill Elementary PTO does the rest!
• WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
With the money raised by this fundraiser, we are hoping to provide the students and staff with various needs such as new PE equipment and games (check out 9 Square in the Air to see the fun coming to PE), new laptops to enrich student learning, STEM programs and projects like Rockets for 6th grade, and more.
• HOW MUCH DO YOU RECOMMEND I CONTRIBUTE?
The Armchair fundraiser is new this year and the only one in which nearly 100% of proceeds (minus credit card processing fees) go directly to school programs benefitting every student. If you can, we suggest $25 per student – but any gift goes a long way and no amount is too small. Some companies even match their employees’ donations so don't forget to check in with your HR departments and just let them know our PTO is a 501(c3) non-profit (documentation can be provided).
