The Southern York County School District Foundation, an organization led by a group of dedicated community volunteers, has a unique partnership with the District that has been very beneficial for students. The Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, provides scholarships, projects, equipment, and supplies to help children succeed in school and in their future.

The main focus of the Foundation is its customizable scholarship program. Donors are able to tailor their scholarship program to honor their loved one or organization. The Foundation has 59 endowed scholarships and many scholarships that are funded annually. The Foundation also gives out 15 - 20 unnamed scholarships each year from generous donations given for this purpose. All scholarships are for the benefit of the Susquehannock High School students.

Other important projects that the Foundation has partnered with the District on include providing the resources to address the basic needs of our children, including providing students with school supplies, clothes, lunches, and eyeglasses through the welfare program.

The Foundation’s goal is to continue to add programs to help meet the needs of the community’s students. The Innovative Grant Program was developed as a collaborative partnership between students, staff, and the Foundation. This program provides funds for authentic learning experiences for our students.
