Nativity 2020

Beloved Family,

The Great Feast of Christmas is here! As 2020 proved to us, our world will always be turbulent, it always has been and always will be. The one meaningful contribution we can make towards the healing of societies, towards right decisions and right action, is to live our Faith with integrity, relating things small and great to Christ. First and foremost, we need His help to get through these times of sickness, pain and uncertainty. This is the only way to find the way through these times is to seek Christ in all things, we must be free of the focus on our own solutions, and heed the words in Psalm 146, “Put not your trust in princes, in mortal men, in whom there is no salvation.”

The good news of Christ’s birth proclaimed to the shepherds will again resound in our homes and in our Parish. Together with the angels, we will sing “Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, and good will among people.” Christmas celebrates the supreme gift of God’s love incarnate in the person of Jesus. Christmas fulfills our hopes of love, joy, good will, forgiveness, justice, peace, and harmony in this world. Especially in this year that we are in, we need to be assured that Christ, the “Son of Righteousness,” arises as a “new dawn” for humanity, shining forth the light of life. Let us all rejoice and be glad in the Christmas celebration!

Let us all join in prayer that our Christmas celebration will give us rest from our struggles and renew in us our love of God and neighbor and our commitment to be true witnesses to the Gospel of Christ. May the blessings of the Lord grant all of us a Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year!

May our Lord’s blessings be upon you!
