Established by St. Mark the Evangelist around 42 A.D. the Coptic Church began in Alexandria, Egypt. Since then, the faith and the Church have remained firm for nearly 2000 years, expanding throughout the diaspora, and continuing to grow from generation to generation.

Stemming from the Greek “Aigyptos”, the word “Coptic” means “Egyptian”, making it a language and a race. The alphabet is a mix between Greek and Hieroglyphic languages.

May God continue to preserve His people and His church throughout all the ages. Amen.
