Help us raise funds to purchase 12 acres of beautiful, rolling woodland adjacent to the Kleinstuck Preserve in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This property provides access to nature for our entire community.

NOTE: to save us processing fees, you can mail a check made out to the Stewards of Kleinstuck to 916 Sunset Ln, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.

We have a singular opportunity to protect this property and keep it open to the community forever, to:

  • protect the primary access point to the Kleinstuck Preserve from the Maple Street YMCA
  • improve community access to open space
  • preserve mature forest
  • protect nearby drinking water wellfields
  • provide an oasis for urban wildlife
  • increase the size of the Kleinstuck Preserve by 25%

"The preserve provides learning opportunities for our students in a number of ways. We take weekly hikes to not only strengthen our bodies, but also to observe the changes of the seasons. The preserve is a major aspect to our program and spending time in nature is beneficial to those students who may not be exposed otherwise." -Tim Sheldon, Early Learning Director, YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo
