Support Young Immigrant Women in NYC

by The Brave House

New York is a place for everyone.

The Brave House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit supporting young immigrant women, ages 16-24, in New York City, with a focus on survivors of gender-based violence. We provide legal advocacy, mentorship, holistic services, and community events - including art class, meditation, English lessons, self-defense, dance, career advising, health insurance enrollment, museum visits and more.

We've supported our members through-out the Covid-19 pandemic, providing cash assistance, warm meals, and virtual events to stay connected with each other through these challenging times.

Our members collectively come from over 13 different countries and span the 5 boroughs of NYC and Long Island. Many are fleeing violence and seeking asylum in the United States, and at our core we provide legal advocacy to fight for the humanitarian protections that they deserve.

Our ultimate vision is a world where every girl thrives, leads, and is valued, regardless of where she was born or what she has been through. We seek to disrupt cycles of violence against women, enhance educational & career opportunities, fight for legal protections, and amplify the voices of a population who are often silenced and underserved. To see our impact in action, you can follow along to see pictures from our events and the amazing women in our sisterhood.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped us reach our Giving Tuesday goal of $30,000! We blew right pass our goal and ended up raising $35,409 in just a few weeks. With the end of the year quickly approaching, we are trying to bring that number up to $50,000 as we welcome in 2021. We have a generous donor who has agreed to match donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000 between now [Dec 18] and the end of the year.

As a 501(c)(3), your contribution today is tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law. Our EIN# is 83-3670811.
