Be part of a key moment in The Laundromat Project's future by helping us raise $40,000 in 10 days, from October 5–14, to support our first long-term home in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Donate today!
The LP recently signed a 10-year lease on a storefront space in Bed-Stuy, which will serve as a creative community hub for artists and neighbors in communities of color throughout NYC and in Central Brooklyn. This move will allow us to put down deep roots, and commit to sustaining support of individuals and communities working to address critical issues such as racial justice, environmental justice, and LGBTQIA+ safe spaces, to name only a few. About The LP:
The LP is a Black-rooted and POC-centered arts and social justice organization that advances artists and neighbors as change agents in their own communities throughout New York City. We make art and culture while fostering leadership through our celebrated Create Change Artist Residency and Fellowship program, the Creative Action Fund, and our Community Engagement Programs. After 15 years, we are returning to where The LP was founded, and we want to explore and build support for this homecoming and for strengthening community bonds during this critical time.
Here's how you can get involved:
About the campaign: The People-Powered Challenge is The LP’s annual 10-day peer-to-peer campaign where we fundraise through the collective power of our friends, family, neighbors, and social networks to support artists and neighbors who are committed to societal change. This campaign strengthens our communities by getting supporters, new and old, to invest in our work with us.
Together we know that we can reach our goal. Thank you for your support!
