28th Annual Spelling Bee 2019

A Note From Kevin Westmoreland, Joe Scully, Emily Abernathy

"I have always loved the English language and reading, so being part of the spelling bee is a natural extension of that. I think being able to read is among the most important things we can give our children. And I’m trying to make up for the trauma of losing the County spelling bee I participated in, in the eighth grade!" - Kevin Westmoreland, co-owner, Corner Kitchen & Chestnut. "As an avid reader, I believe that spelling is both challenging and fun. I really enjoyed them when I was in grade school, and we even used to have spelling bees around the dinner table when I was a child at home. So this is a great event for me personally." - Chef Joe Scully, co-owner, Corner Kitchen & Chestnut. ~Emily, co-owner, Chupacabra
