Please Help us Make Social Media Safe For Everyone

As the world of social media has exploded so have incidences of cyberbullying, violence, harassment, hate speech, trafficking, and propaganda, among other threats. The Organization for Social Media Safety takes a comprehensive approach to protecting you and your family on social media by:

- educating on safe social media practices

- advocating for public policies that protect social media users

- and developing technology to provide real-time protection from social media-related threats

Your generous support will immediately help us with the following urgent 2019 projects to make social media safe for those at highest risk:

- Establish a social media safety pilot program in partnership with Los Angeles County to protect vulnerable foster youth who are at high risk for human trafficking;

- Teach critical social media safety skills at low-resource schools struggling with cyberbullying, violence, and sexual harassment;

- And, pass groundbreaking legislation (AB 1280) in California to protect children and adults from the threat of sexual exploitation posed by new deepfake technology.
