You have the opportunity to join our first ever Breck Summer Read-A-Thon!
For the months of July and August, we invite you to support a favorite Breck School service site: The Sheridan Story. Breck School is a long time supporter of The Sheridan Story, a non-profit organization whose mission is to fight child hunger through community and school partnerships. The Sheridan Story fights hunger in our community by filling the gaps to food access that children face during weekends, summers, and extended breaks. Prior to COVID-19 and the recent unrest in our community, more than 200,000 children in Minnesota lived with food insecurity. Without reliable access to food – such as free and reduced meal programs at school – the risk of hunger is very real. The need has increased considerably and The Sheridan Story has had to increase output by 400%, delivering 100,000 meals per week to 31 school districts across Minnesota, western Wisconsin, and other community partners.By donating, you are directly supporting The Sheridan Story's increase in food inventory so that they can continue to provide meals for the hundreds of thousands of children who are increasingly facing food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
