Despite the challenges of COVID-19, the Thomas Circle Singers have had a remarkable season. Among many other things, we premiered two video performances, “If I Could Stop One Heart From Breaking” and “You Are The New Day.” If you haven’t yet experienced them, head over to our YouTube channel (http://tiny.cc/youtubetcs) --- they are truly spectacular.

Artistic Director James Kreger has been busy planning a 2021-2022 season, which I am excited to say includes a return to live performances! The safety of our audience and singers remains paramount, so we are listening closely to the advice of health officials and following the most stringent safety guidance. We also plan to continue our partnership with Art Enables (www.art-enables.org), an art gallery and vocational arts program dedicated to creating opportunities for artists with disabilities right here in D.C.

This past year we have been forced to creatively re-imagine our programming, and we have had several positive developments. For example, our Zoom-based conversations on various music-related topics and the history of TCS have proven very popular. We plan to continue offering similar events virtually next season and beyond.

I am pleased to announce that the Board recently voted to create an executive director position for TCS. Our Administrative Director, Erin Feng, will assume that role at the end of this season to more accurately reflect the breadth of her responsibilities. Erin’s initiative, hard work, and great ideas have been absolutely indispensable to TCS these past several years, and she has ably steered us through the pandemic with the skill and dedication that TCS has come to rely on. Please join me in congratulating Erin on her new role.

We couldn’t have experienced the imaginative and successful season we are now ending without your support. Your continued generosity is crucial to our future success. While any donation, small or large, makes a big difference, I ask that you contribute as generously as you can. In addition, please consider joining the Thomas Circle Sustainers (http://tiny.cc/sustainers), who have committed to making a monthly contribution to us. (You can cancel at any time!)

The day when we can come together again and experience dynamic and impactful concerts seems to be drawing nearer, and I look forward to seeing you then.

Sincerely,

Andrew Beckwith, Chair Board of Directors
