Help transform a monument to hate into a Center for healing.

Transform 1012 N. Main Street is a Texas-based, community-led coalition working to transform the former Ku Klux Klan auditorium in Fort Worth into The Fred Rouse Center for Arts and Community Healing, honoring Fred Rouse, a Black man lynched in Fort Worth in 1921. Our coalition centers the communities targeted for violence and economic marginalization by the KKK—Black, Catholic, Hispanic/Latinx, Immigrant, Jewish, and LGBTQQ2SPIAA+ communities—so that resources and decision-making power are returned to those most impacted.

What we’ve completed

• Building acquired (2021)—the critical first step to ensure the site could be transformed.

• Community-based design process rooted in values, equity, and transparency (including Design Week and public engagement).

• Construction progress: by August 2025, the project entered the selective demolition phase, beginning the physical transformation.

Why we need support for 2026

2026 is a make-or-break year: continuing the build-out of a historic structure while expanding community programming, interpretation, and the staffing/operations required to deliver the Center responsibly.
