This year marks 10 years of Reading Under the Lights (RUL)! A decade of fostering a love of reading and helping prevent the summer slide.

What began as a small local effort has grown into a nationally recognized literacy model, uniting school districts, libraries, educators, donors, and volunteers to create joyful summer reading experiences for children and families.

In 2025 alone, Reading Under the Lights:

Gifted 14,941 books

Served 2,763 students

Reached six school districts

This year, we've expanded to nine school districts, with more districts pending!
