Wine pairing of a different sort!
Opolo Vineyards and the Ventura County Library Foundation are toasting the fall harvest and good reads. We'll virtually visit their pastoral vineyards and get a peek at the 2020 vintages. And our book pairing will be Peter Mayle's The Vintage Caper for a rollicking mystery that starts in Hollywood and ends up in France.
Winemakers David Nichols and Rick Quinn were neighbors in Ventura County's Santa Rosa Valley when they made their first wines together at home before venturing off to grow grapes and make award-winning wines in Paso Robles. Best-selling author Peter Mayle wrote extensively about the wine, food and characters of France that always entertained.
Donors can pick up a bottle of Opolo's Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Opolo Sparkling at their Westlake Village office during business hours, or arrange to get your wine before our October 22nd virtual event from a VCLF Board member. Let us know how you want to receive your wine when you purchase your ticket.
And we'll raise a toast to good wine and good reads!

Proceeds from this event will support the Ventura County Library’s STEAM initiatives and other programs, including the very popular STEAM take home kits. In the summer of 2020, over 3,000 STEAM kits were distributed to students from the libraries. These kits included materials to learn about ocean waves, volcanoes, biology and geology. During the pandemic, these at-home projects provided hours of learning and fun for youngsters. Our goal is to provide more programs and more fun!
