Dr. Diego Mejia in Honduras has been working with Vision Outreach International for almost 2 decades. In the early years, he would partner with Vision Outreach in hosting a huge eye clinic for the poor in his country at least once a year. We would send a large team of people to do eye exams, give out glasses, and find individuals who needed eye surgeries.

Dr. Diego and his team would perform the surgeries the following week once the team had departed the country. These patients had limited resources but Dr. Diego would treat each one as if they were paying full price.

In the years the followed, Dr. & Mrs. Mejia used the own money to open up a social clinic to treat the poor on a regular basis. Never once have I heard them ask for anything in return. They have great faith and believed that doing good to all, would one day return to them, in God's timing.

In 2008, Dr. Diego began training US surgeons in the international surgical technique known as MSICS (Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery). Since that time he has trained almost 100 individuals. Many of them have moved forward in helping the poor all over the world.

Dr. Mejia has also joined us in lecturing at MSICS Training Events and Conferences here in the United States. He and his wife Patricia have such giving hearts and we are glad to be associated with them.

Now we have the opportunity to give back. For those of you that have been blessed to be trained by Dr. Diego, and have had the opportunity to get to know him, you have learned, not only how to be international surgeons, but have also been given a living example of love and integrity. We encourage you to join us in giving back, according to the blessing that you have received.

Dr. Diego is in great need of a Pentacam measurement machine. This machine is necessary and is the basis for precise and reliable diagnostics along with successful treatment of the anterior segment. This will help provide quality patient care and serve people in need for years to come. Medical professionals will benefit from up-to-date and powerful surgical training. Thank you for being a part of this great effort and blessing those who have blessed so many.
