Afghan Friendship Circle
for Women & Families

Please join us, any small donation helps. We are inviting you to join a Friendship Circle to help our Afghan family make the transition to a bright future. Please donate $100/month for 6 months, for a total of $600, to give the family stability from January 1-June 30. Choose to donate $600 now or $100/month for six months. (All monthly donations of $100 will be cancelled after six months.) Your support will provide a roof and food for the family of nine while they work to find jobs and next-step educational opportunities.

Our Circle has made it possible for an Afghan family of nine people escape from immediate and life-threatening danger. Now we are asking our Circle to provide support for their next steps. Brazil has been wonderful to welcome Afghan refugees, but support for resettlement is not sufficient.

In our family, the mother is a surgeon, a medical professor and a longtime advocate for women’s education — and she is now also a refugee, without home, livelihood or safety. Three of the children are also doctors. They look forward to a life of service, but now they urgently need your support and friendship.

It all began with a cowboy hat. We met the family through Vista 360°'s cowboy cultural exchange program in Central Asia. At the World Nomad Games in 2016, we gave the father a cowboy hat as a gift from the U.S. team to the Afghan team. He emailed us five years later, when the Taliban took Kabul.
