We believe all children should have access to creative, hands-on art experiences
from professional, community-based artists.
Young Audiences of Northern California creates art experiences that inspire young people, expand learning, and enliven communities. We partner with our network of 48 teaching artists to provide Bay Area schools and community centers with four core programs:
Residencies: hands-on arts learning conducted by teaching artists in classrooms, for a period of 6 to 20 sessions.
Assembly Performances: Live, in-school performances by talented artists and ensembles invite students to experience a professional dance, theater or music program right in their school.
Workshops: stand-alone, hands-on arts engagement often occurring before and/or after an assembly performance, deepening kids' interaction with the artists and art form.
Professional Development for classroom teachers: designed to increase teachers’ comfort level and abilities to teach in, through, and about the arts within their day-to-day curriculum.
