Laurene Powell Jobs

Honorary Chair Martha Carlson Ryan
Event Chair Deborah Mann
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, through her Emerson Collective, tirelessly champions innovations in education, immigration reform, journalism and environmental justice, transforming philanthropy with a venture capital mindset to tackle some of society’s toughest challenges. Said Laurene, “I’ve always believed — deeply — that all of life is interconnected. That you can’t separate education from opportunity, you can’t separate health from justice, climate from equity or art from truth.”
ARCS Foundation addresses some of the world’s biggest challenges by investing in the seed stage research of brilliant science and technology graduate students. We award $1 million each year to over 70 top graduate students at seven of Northern California’s world class research universities. In our 55 years of investment, we have supported generations of scientists who are making breakthroughs in a broad range of STEM fields and medical research. These days, raising funds to support these scholars is more important than ever. Those who support ARCS are making a focused and powerful investment in a better future for all of us.
Please join us at the San Francisco Design Center Galleria for this exciting occasion. The evening comprises a celebratory reception and two "think tank" get-togethers that will address curated, topical STEM/medical issues with some of our brilliant scholars. Dinner and an exhilarating program will follow.
