Eyes have been of interest in art for thousands of years. In this workshop participants will admire dramatic eyes on view in museum exhibitions like the eye of Horus in the Ancient Egypt galleries and the painted eye of Theodosia Burr on view in the Schuyler Sisters and Their Circle show. Our teaching artist will guide the group in the creation of a variety of eye drawings. Each artist will then choose one drawing that will become part of a pendant similar to the miniature painting of Theodosia Burr’s eye attributed to John Vanderlyn on display.
