APEX is turning FIVE. 

In a world where most Black-led nonprofits don’t make it to year five, this is more than just a birthday party. It’s a moment to honor five years of collective work - built through real grit, care, and ancestral vision. 

And we have the BEST news: Thanks to a generous individual donor, all donations will be DOUBLED up to $5,000, which means your community love will go twice as far! 

Within a non-profit landscape that underfunds and strategically sidelines Black-led work, we’ve kept going - because our people kept showing up. This celebration is for everyone who made space for animal justice to be led by us, shaped by us, and grounded in liberation that doesn’t leave anyone behind.

This year’s After-Party is our biggest one yet: a birthday celebration for this entire movement.

WHY THIS YEAR IS SPECIAL

Five years shouldn’t be a rare milestone for Black-led organizations — but it is.

The majority of Black-founded non-profits don't make it to year five. Black-founded non-profits receive less than 2% of all institutional funding, and we face innumerable structural barriers, including donor bias.

APEX made it because you kept showing up. And because we don’t know how to quit. This is ours, and we’re not going anywhere. This celebration isn’t just a birthday.

It’s a testament to resilience, care, and a community rewriting what’s possible.
