Join the Armstrong Community Music School for a concert and brunch at the home of Jeff and Gail Kodosky.
This year we are so pleased to announce the recipient of the Margaret Perry Award for Excellence in Education will be given to Walter Tragert. Walter, a long-time early childhood music educator and singer-songwriter, was responsible for the school's highest early childhood enrollment numbers back in the day. The recipients of the James C. Armstrong Award for Philanthropy in Community Arts Engagement are Katharine and Gregory Shields. The Shields are long-time supporters of the school and also the community at large. Katharine and Gregory are both accomplished musicians and deeply involved with many musical organizations throughout Austin. Gregory has taken lessons at the school with Paul Matthews (jazz piano) and Ruby Jane Smith (fiddle) and Katharine studies voice with Liz Cass.
The concert will feature music performed by our talented faculty reflecting the core purposes of the school.
