We’re kicking off 2025 with three extraordinary new shows at Art Enables, and you’re invited to celebrate their debut at our opening reception on Thursday, February 8, from 5–7 PM at the Art Enables.
These exciting exhibitions showcase the creativity and imagination of our artists in unique ways. "Relic of My Time" features assemblages and embedded objects created by Art Enables resident artists after a workshop with Baltimore artist Schroeder Cherry. The artists transformed personal items like keychains, jewelry, and shells into vibrant, archeological treasures that reflect their lives and memories. "Animal, Vegetable, Popsicle" takes a playful approach to the classic classification system, exploring themes of animals, plants, and sweet treats through colorful and whimsical works that blur the lines between categories. Popsicle sticks punctuate the gallery walls, stained with hues of frozen treats and inscribed with jokes by our artists, offering a delightful lens for viewing their favorite subjects. "Proximity," our first studio gallery show of 2025, explores the dynamics of closeness, whether comforting or chaotic. From family portraits and shared meals to a wolf’s chase and Medusa’s gaze, this exhibition captures the interplay of physical and figurative distance in unexpected and imaginative ways.
Treats and refreshments will be served, neatly (or not so neatly?), categorized for you in the spirit of "Animal, Vegetable, Popsicle." Celebrate the incredible creativity of Art Enables artists and experience these shows with us. We can’t wait to see you there!
