Discover the art of weaving using simple cardboard looms and colorful yarn. Participants will learn the basics of weaving while creating playful geometric and animal shapes like hearts, fish, turtles, octopuses, and other imaginative forms. By weaving yarn over and under a set of vertical threads (called the “warp”), participants build patterns, textures, and images one row at a time. With each pass of the yarn, simple materials transform into something personal, expressive, and full of character.

Inspired by the popularity of textile art in progressive studios across the U.S. (some of which can be seen in our upcoming "Outside Forces" exhibition) this workshop invites visitors to slow down, explore color and pattern, and enjoy the rhythm of making. Whether you follow a guided shape or invent your own, each woven piece becomes a small story told through texture and design.

This free, drop-in workshop runs from 11 AM to 3 PM  and is open to all skill levels
