Art from Ashes (AfA) exists to empower struggling youth by providing creative programs that facilitate health and hope through expression, connection and transformation. AfA is in their 17th year of serving the Denver Metro area with their award-winning curriculum that inspires youth to share their voices and empower their spirit.
Art from Ashes has been nimble through the pandemic as they continue to find new ways to reach youth while keeping everyone safe. They're taking their FUNdraising events online to highlight youth voices and spread the word about the work that they're doing.
This is the third Pastries and Poetry virtual event AfA is hosting. Our very own, Laura Peña, will be chatting you up during the event. Brian Smith, Pastry Chef with FNG and more than 15 years experience in the pastry and restaurant biz, is donating his time to provide an entertaining spin on how to bake a strawberry cheesecake in your own home. There will be youth performances during baking time and you'll get to learn more about what Art from Ashes does.
Monday, February 8th from 6 to 7:30pm hosted on Zoom. A link will be sent to you in your confirmation email after signing up.
A suggested $35 donation gets you a spot to join in the fun and you will purchase your own ingredients. This is great for those that wish to participate from anywhere, not just in Denver! (Of course, we wouldn't hold anything against you if you'd like to donate more.)
Please let us know when you RSVP if you have dietary restrictions and/or preferences so that we can work with you to accommodate them.
Thank you for supporting the work that Art from Ashes is doing for their community. We'll see you in your kitchen soon!
