AI data centers are popping up across the state faster than most towns can react — draining water, straining the power grid, and reshaping overburdened neighborhoods with minimal public review or notice. Communities aren't waiting around: 76 municipalities have already passed or proposed local ordinances banning or restricting these facilities.
