Governor Sherrill and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection have proposed a one year delay and rollback of flood protection public health and safety regulations scheduled to go into effect next month, July 2026. These rules are known as the New Jersey Protecting Against Climate Threat Resilient Environments and Landscapes (NJPACT REAL) rules and they update development safe building standards to account for lands that currently flood and will flood in the near future.

Join ANJEC Executive Director, Jennifer M. Coffey, and other environmental and community advocates who will provide guidance on providing oral comments at the upcoming virtual public hearing on Tuesday, July 7th and submitting public comments by the July 31 deadline asking Governor Sherrill and the NJDEP to get REAL about climate change and adopt NJPACT REAL NOW!
