CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Social 1: Building the Foundation of Friendships is designed for autistic adults who want to better understand themselves and build meaningful social connections. Through guided activities, group discussions, and real-life practice, participants will explore personal identity, boost self-confidence, and learn the key skills needed to form and maintain friendships.

Over four weekly sessions, participants will:

  • Develop self-awareness through reflection and self-assessments
  • Identify personal strengths, needs, and preferences that impact relationships
  • Learn where and how to meet people with shared interests
  • Practice small talk, active listening, and reading body language
  • Set personal social goals and explore community-based opportunities
  • Gain confidence in starting and sustaining friendships

This course provides a supportive, interactive environment where participants can try out new skills, build self-esteem, and connect with others who share similar goals. Whether you’re looking to make new friends, strengthen existing relationships, or simply feel more confident in social settings, this course offers the tools and encouragement to help you grow.
