WHAT?

DAY WITHOUT WOMXN IN CHURCH is a two-part event, starting with a worship and arts program followed by a community fair including brunch, music, resources, vendors, youth activities, networking and fun.

It is a DAY of WORSHIP, PROTEST, HEALING, CELEBRATION, UNITY, and ACTION.

It is a CATALYST for AN AGENDA FOR BLACK WOMXN & GIRLS.

WHY?

1) Demonstrate Believing Black Womxn’s People Power

2) Stand Against the structural and institutional forces in the church that oppress womxn

3) Affirm the diverse ways Black Womxn do ministry

4) Provide space for healing from church/religious abuse and maltreatment

5) Charge attendees to come together for a purpose larger than themselves and individual ministries/organizations

We are committed to organizing Believing Black Womxn and allies for Black Womxn's and Girls well-being and freedom. In addition to making this event a reality you will help bring two major projects to life:

An Agenda for Black Womxn and Girls: This initiative is designed to dismantling the inequities Black Womxn and Girls face and creating opportunity by centering the lived experiences, economic realitites, opinions, needs and dreams of Black womxn and girls. We will launch 

Our Oratorical Contest is designed to equip community groups, ministries, and schools with engaging and creative public speaking curriculum for Black Girls around relevant issues and historical figures. Furthermore, we will be able to award select students with scholarships & prizes.

In addition to helping us launch these major projects. Your sponsorship will help support our ongoing projects.

Most importantly your sponsorship will demonstrate to Black Womxn & Girls that you are willing to support us in radical and unconventional ways. But in ways that we deem necessary.
