BlackStar Luminary Gala

BlackStar Projects is excited to welcome you to the second annual Luminary Gala on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in Philadelphia. 

Join us for an unforgettable evening of celebration, entertainment, dancing, and the presentation of the 2024 Luminary Awards. Proceeds from the event will support BlackStar’s suite of year-round cultural programming that provides Black, Brown, and Indigenous artists with the resources, support, and shine they need to thrive.

This year's honorees include Annemarie Jacir, Louis Massiah, New Negress Film Society, and Tourmaline. The evening is hosted by Jenny Yang and feature performances by Melanie Charles. Visit our website to learn more about this year’s honorees, host, and performer.

The Luminary Gala is a semi-formal event that honors some of the brightest stars in the fields of art, film, and cultural production. The gala will feature a cocktail hour followed by a seated dinner and after party. The program schedule is detailed below:

• 6:00 - 7:00PM | Check-In & Cocktail Hour
• 7:00 - 9:00PM | Seated Dinner & Awards Ceremony
• 9:00 - 11:00PM | Dessert & Dancing

The Luminary Gala will take place at The Switch House in Philadelphia.  Book a discounted room at the The Switch House Hotel. Complimentary valet parking is available for all attendees who plan to drive to the event.
