The panelists will discuss the growing movement against AI data centers, the political implications ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, and whether community organizing around this issue can lead to enduring coalition-building on a national scale.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Robinson Meyer is the founding executive editor of Heatmap and a contributing Opinion writer for The New York Times.

Nicholas Rabb is an organizer with No Data Center Monterey Park and a postdoctoral researcher with the Eco-STEM Project at California State University, Los Angeles.

Astra Taylor is a writer, activist, and documentarian. Her latest book, End Times Fascism and the Fight for the Living World, co-written with Naomi Klein, will be published in September 2026. 

Lily Hu, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Yale, is a contributing editor at Boston Review.
