Join Us for the 2024 Get Hooked Fishing Derby on August 17th from 7-11am!  

Heres how it works:

Register here!  Drive through and pick up your packet at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, 2500 River Drive Moline on August 15th or 16th from 4-7pm or at The Ontiveros Youth Center, 1122 5th Avenue, Moline August 17th at 7am.

On August 17th, gather your fishing tackle and sunscreen, head to your favorite fishing hole with your family and friends and cast your line. Upload a photo of you in your Fishing Derby shirt with your fresh catch next to the measuring tape (included in your packet) to The Get Hooked Fishing Derby Facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/768074695481882 

We will be awarding a Grand Prize to the winners of the longest fish contest in the adult, teen and youth categories.

 After you reel in your catches for the day, stop by The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley's Ontiveros Youth Center at 1122 5th Avenue Moline for prize pick up and refreshment from 9-Noon!

WAIVER (by registering here, you agree to the terms set forth below).

In consideration of participating in the sport of fishing, and for other good and valuable consideration, I hereby agree to release and discharge from liability The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley and its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers and all other persons or entities acting for them (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Releasees"), on behalf of myself and my children, parents, heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate agree as follows:

1. I acknowledge that the sport of fishing involves known and unacticipated risks which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis or permanent disability, death, and property damage.  I understand such risks simply cannot be eliminated, despite the use of safety equipment, without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity.

2. I expressly accept and assume all of the risks inherent in this activity or that might have been caused by the negligence of the Releasees. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary and I elect to participate despite risks.

3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Releasees from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity, or my use of their equipment or facilities, arising from negligence. This release does not apply to claims arising from intentional conduct. Should Releasees or anyone acting on their behalf be required to incur attorney's fees and costs to enfroce this agreement, I agree to indenmify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs.

By agreeing to this document through my virtual signature, I agree that if I am hurt or my property is damaged during my participation in this activity, then I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against the parties being released on the basis of any claim for negligence.
