Dear Burbank Parent Education HAVANA NIGHTS Attendees.
The health and wellness of all attendees is a priority. Our gala attracts all age ranges, but as our program has been established for over 54 years ago, we are well aware that a large number of you who are in a vulnerable age bracket may have concerns.
We will continue to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus and Covid -19 and are keeping an eye on the official information, including guidance published by the CDC. According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, there is no need to cancel public gatherings. Still, should an emergency directive be issued, we will take appropriate action as directed by government officials.
We are fortunate to be a close-knit community of attendees and are all connected in some way. I don’t expect anyone in our community who is sick or who is presenting signs of illness to be in attendance or attempt to attend our event.
At our event, we will be taking several proactive, precautionary and preventative measures to protect against the exposure to the virus. All of our regular health and hygiene practices provide the best defence against most contagious illnesses.
Also, all the board members who operate the ticket counters and check-in tables will be wearing gloves. There will also be ample supplies of hand sanitizer throughout the venue.
Be assured that our team will be taking every precaution for a germ-free, fun-filled and successful event.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you all in Havana!
Vice President and Gala Chair
Welcome to the Burbank Parent Education Council's 29th Annual Spring Gala fundraiser. It is one of the most important dates on the "Parent Ed" calendar and the most impressive.
It's a warm and balmy night in Havana, Cuba. The sound of a guitar and percussive conga's, couple's dancing, bringing the heat with their rhythmic movements to a Cuban salsa beat. You'll be transported back in time with live music by Latin Grammy Award Winners: Yamila Cuban Latin Band, dancing and mojitos. Enjoy yourself with friends and experience a tantalising Cuban influenced 3-Course luncheon by Executive Chef Albert Doon. Plus over a 100 beautifully assembled opportunity baskets, big-ticket items that will be on display for you to win and a silent auction.
" Adorn your favourite fedora or a white mariposa for your hair. Floral, white or linen, Cuban style of dress is what to wear"!
All funds raised go back into the Burbank Parent Education Program. We use the monies to refresh classroom supplies, additional resource materials for our educators, play equipment and student scholarships.
