The Cambridge Women's Center was founded by brave women who marched from the Massachusetts State House to occupy 888 Memorial Drive for 10 days in March 1971. As a part of our 50th anniversary celebration, this March, we challenge you to walk 50,000 "steps" (or more!) to honor the activism of those women.
Register here to participate in the walk challenge. With your registration you will get bi-weekly e-mails throughout the month of March with inspiration and encouragement to reach your goal, access to a form to record your steps, and a "step" conversion calculator so other activities can count toward your goal.
We also encourage you to consider fundraising through this challenge. Funds raised through the 50,000 step challenge will help sustain the Cambridge Women's Center and ensure this space exists for women in need for the next 50 years.
Prizes will be awarded to those who:
The occupation of 888 Memorial Drive led to the founding of the Cambridge Women's Center, yet there is still work to be done! Join us as we march on!
