Calling all mechanically curious cyclists! Are you a commuter that’s interested in learning more about the steed that gets you from A to B, an aspiring home mechanic that’s interested in a little DIY repair, or are you a person that’s just plain excited about mechanical systems and getting your hands dirty? We welcome you to our 2019 season of Adult Mechanic classes. Here we will explore five systems of the bicycle: brakes, shifting, frame, wheels, and bearing systems. You will dive deeper into each system as you piece together a bicycle throughout this five week course, with a final opportunity to apply all you’ve learned to your very own bicycle! We call this course a begintermediate course as we will cover topics that introduce both beginner concepts and intermediate practices. We will dive deeper than the average intro skills clinic with hands-on activities and mechanical knowledge to empower you in your future cycling endeavors.
Some skills you can expect to take away from this course include:
Please note: We will not cover wheel building or hydraulic brake adjustments in this class. If you consider yourself an experienced mechanic, this class may not meet your learning needs.
