Join San Diego Opera’s General Director, David Bennett, for a journey through the new season, opening in November with Puccini’s much-loved classic, La Bohème. David will guide us through the season’s productions focusing on the operas by the great Italian composers Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi.

About David Bennett

David Bennett is the General Director of San Diego Opera. Under his leadership since 2015, the Company has embarked on a series of community-based initiatives including a citywide Listening Tour series, free public performance and family-friendly operas to better serve the diverse San Diego region as well as maintaining its commitment to staging Grand Opera. Prior to San Diego Opera, he was the Managing Director and Executive Director of Gotham Chamber Opera, and before that served as the Managing Director at Dancer New Amsterdam in Manhattan. Previous to making the move to Arts Administration, Mr. Bennett enjoyed a successful career as a baritone performing for numerous opera companies and alongside orchestras throughout the United States, including The Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony, Skylight Opera Theater, and the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee.  He holds both an M.B.A. and an M.A. in Arts Administration and has served on the board of directors of OPERA America.
