Pianist Miki Sawada performs at Dewey Hall as part of her Gather Hear Massachusetts tour! She is traveling the 50 states with a piano to perform in community gathering spaces instead of concert halls, to find a shared humanity across political and socioeconomic lines in this divided country. After tours through Alaska and West Virginia, she is touring her home state of Massachusetts. 

Miki will perform works by Florence Price, Franz Liszt, and a piece written specially for this tour by Boston-based musician Ariel Friedman.

What to expect: 

1) Party size limit of 4. Each party will have a 5 ft diameter circle to sit in. Each circle’s edge is 6ft away from the next. Please purchase your parties tickets together so we can reserve your space. 

2) Bring your own blanket or chair to sit on. 

3) Please purchase your tickets online ahead of time if possible. Space is limited! To allow for easy planning, please purchase all the tickets for your party at one time. 

4) Masks must be worn the entire time. Physical distancing required.

About Miki:
Miki Sawada has performed in North America, Europe, and Asia at venues and occasions such as: Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, Roulette (Brooklyn), Helsinki Music Centre, Arctic Philharmonic (Norway), Oneppo Chamber Music Series at Yale, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Music on Main (Vancouver), Dame Myra Hess series (Chicago), and the Banff Centre. In the summers, she serves as a faculty member of Heifetz Institute. Miki holds degrees from Yale School of Music, Eastman School of Music, and Northwestern University.
