The Drawing Center is planning a virtual gala celebration, which will stream live on our website (drawingcenter.org) at 8pm EST on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
The event will honor Jack Shear, Zadie Smith, and Henry Taylor, featuring contributions from each of our honorees, along with several very special guests, including Agnes Gund, AC Hudgins, and Dr. Kwame Anthony Appiah.
This year, The Drawing Center will reimagine its annual Benefit Gala as a virtual event honoring three individuals who have given so much to contemporary culture: curator, philanthropist, discerning collector, and President of the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation Jack Shear; award-winning novelist, essayist, and critic Zadie Smith; and the Los Angeles-based artist Henry Taylor, an extraordinary and inveterate draftsman.
Gala supporters will also be among the first to preview 100 Drawings from Now, a benefit exhibition at The Drawing Center featuring drawings made during the past several months by over 100 contemporary artists. Artwork sales will benefit The Drawing Center as well as the participating artists.
For further information, contact Rebecca Brickman, Director of Development, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that all donations to the 2020 benefit gala will be fully tax-deductible.
