This is our Oakland Expressive Arts Runway (formerly Fashion Show). The models consist of women who have faced cancer in their lifetime. To prepare for the show, the models were engaged in a weekly group process using the expressive arts. The group explored three themes: Happy-ness, Transformation and Empowerment, which became the Title of each scene. The models illuminated their explorations about survivorship through the expressive arts. This gave each model a deeper understanding of their personal healing journey and different ways of expressing that story beyond words. 

During the same time, the models worked with our fashion team to select outfits from their personal wardrobes to represent each scene. The models worked courageously in bringing themselves to meet their expressive artworks having no previous experience with the arts before participation in this program.
