Please join us and show your support for the Fair Housing Council of Oregon’s mission to end housing discrimination and ensure equal access to housing for all Oregonians.

FHCO is the only organization in the state that educates both housing providers and tenants about their rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act. We offer training and outreach activities that reach communities throughout the state, including presentations that explore historical housing segregation, discrimination, and displacement in Oregon. As part of our strategic plan to increase outreach statewide, we also have deepened our involvement in rural communities by forming local advocacy committees that work to address discrimination occurring within their communities.
Through our hotline and testing program, we help advocate and restore housing choice for those experiencing housing discrimination. We have responded to an increasing number of allegations of housing discrimination during the COVID-19 pandemic and work with tenants and housing providers to ensure everyone understands their housing rights.
As a civil rights organization, we facilitate presentations focused on institutionalized racism and historical harm through a fair housing lens and educate government officials on how to use public policy to remedy harm. We also advocate to jurisdictions across the state for development of housing that meets the needs of all community members.
Our vision is that everyone in Oregon can live wherever they’d like to live, free from discrimination.
