Festival of Community Spirit

With this year's Voices of Freedom Festival, Freedom House Detroit aims to raise more than $100,000 to benefit asylum seekers and celebrate the safe return to hugging old friends and meeting new ones! In the spirit of renewal, Freedom House is pleased to announce a few changes to this year's event!

This year's festival will retain the warmth of past Voices of Freedom Galas while connecting more intimately with Freedom House's community spirit. If you've attended past galas, you may notice that the event name has changed. Beginning last year, Freedom House shifted from "gala" to "festival" to mark its shift toward alumni voices, music, and other art and entertainment.

Galley-Gallery Venue

This year's venue is the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC). The DHDC boasts a galley-like event space adorned by captivating murals painted by local artists. (When it's not hosting events, the DHDC's state of the art facility is a hub of activity for youth and family programs benefiting Southwest Detroit families.)

Eat, Drink, Experience

Guests will be treated to a buffet of three global-cuisine small-plates prepared by local eateries as well as cocktail service from a local distillery. (Freedom House will announce these  local vendors soon!) As a token of its appreciation to you, Freedom House is providing each guest with a complimentary cocktail. Additional cocktails will be available for purchase.

Guests will also hear from alumni, experience live, global music, and watch the event unfold on canvas as an artist paints a live rendering of the event.

Limited Seats

Freedom House is closely monitoring the COVID-situation to ensure a safe and inspiring event. For your comfort and peace of mind, we are limiting the number of seats available to just 160.
