This event is limited to two trees per household. We may have additional trees at the end of the event, but we want to make sure everyone can take home a tree! If you are unable to attend the pickup date, please send someone in your place. We cannot make arrangements for additional pickup times.

Tree Details

This year we will have small sized trees. The majority of the trees will be 2 quart sized, 3" diameter and 9" deep. Please note the size of the tree when deciding on what species of tree you want

Why Adopt a Tree?

Trees have loads of environmental and health benefits. Trees provide cooling shade, they clean the air and protect our waterways from toxic stormwater runoff. Trees provide habitat for wildlife and bring beauty to our communities. 

Spring season is planting season! During this time the tree is still waking up from its winter long dormancy, needing plenty of sunlight, warm weather and water making spring the perfect time to plant your tree! Please review the planting resources on our website, in your confirmation email, and at the adoption event! Feel free to to reach out to us anytime with questions about your tree!

Trees and forests in Allegheny County are at constant threat of pests and disease as well as increasingly severe weather events and development pressures. It’s up to us to grow and protect this critical natural resource, and planting trees on private property is one of the most effective ways to do it. You are a tree hero, and we can’t thank you enough!
